Money. You know those multicoloured bills in your wallet that are kinda VERY important? Well, money is something that we all use every day. To buy back-to-school stationery, a new jacket, or a laptop case to carry to the office. It’s all around us: the divide between those who have and those who don’t, those who can handle their finances and those who can’t, and we’re here to hopefully shift those of you from can’t to can.

We learn history, biology, and even other languages, but honestly? Saying ‘Hola’ probably won’t guarantee a successful life; however, understanding money, investing, saving, spending, credit, economics, and financial decisions will help you immeasurably in the long term.

This is where PiggyBank Post steps in.

Project PiggyBank is a student-led initiative on financial literacy, making finance easier to understand for students around the world who scratch their heads at knowledge crucial for their future. Our goal? Make financial literacy more digestible, less intimidating, and more accessible.

Questions about inflation, budgeting, financial habits, investing, saving, and more—things we are expected to understand but are never taught—are addressed through frequent workshops, informational Instagram posts, and now: the PiggyBank Post. We also answer how these big terms floating in our newspaper and changing the world outside our windows affect us. Middle schoolers. High schoolers. College students.

Why Students?

It happens so often that students put away financial literacy as “Oh, that? That comes so much later!” But before you know it, you are in college, starting your first part-time job, and have no idea how to manage your money.

HABITS develop easily, and they stem from KNOWLEDGE.

Project PiggyBank aims to give kids a crash course to prepare them for their future. We aren’t trying to turn every student into a financial expert. We’re trying to make sure that when young people eventually have to make important financial decisions, they aren’t making them completely blindly.

You don’t need to be an economics student.
You don’t need to study business or accounting.

We make hard concepts easy enough that any student, no matter the age, can learn something important.

We’ll help you learn without a textbook.
